Hi William,
Is the Conet project the short wave radio noise recording's CD ?
I have been into these weird noises and number stations for years - wondering what they were all about.Absolutely love monitoring that stuff. I know to some it's a bit weird, but I used to listen to 'Lincolnshire Poacher'number station transmissions and researched it ( of course all the internet info is speculation) but it is a very interesting subject.

Are you a short wave radio enthusiast ?

regards, Simon

Simon: yes, that's the one and highly recommended, there's a guy online who acquired an East German machine, super cool

I haven't checked this in awhile, and I am thrilled you've come across the Conet Project! I've used these in my own noisework before to great effect and as a nod to my grandfathers ham radio operations. Being a small child out in his workshop in the middle of the night, odd radio signals were (and still are) one of the few things that will make the hair on my neck stand up. I would love to hear what your thoughts are on these recordings.
btw, I discovered there is a movie coming out next month or in May starring John Cusack with the obvious title "The Numbers Station". It might be a flop, it might not.

Checked up today to see what you've been up to, and I am thrilled you've come across the Conet Project. I've used several of the tracks in my own noisework to great effect (especially live). These also remind me of my childhood, my grandfather was a ham operator and some of the things coming out of his radio were very frightening. To this day the recordings and other radio noise still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I would love to hear what your thoughts are on these recordings.
Btw, there's a John Cusack movie coming next month with the obvious title of "The Numbers Station". It might be a flop, it might not.

Strange that Lisa Carver would have to "reconsider" Yoko Ono.
